Spring School "'Il mondo a Roma'. Transnationale Zugänge zur italienischen Zeitgeschichte" (9–13 March 2026)

The Contemporary History Spring School is being held for the first time. It aims to offer young students the opportunity to get to know Rome as an international city that is not only shaped by global Catholicism, but is also a hub for diplomacy, journalism, culture and science.
Visits to embassies, media houses, research institutes and museums will provide an opportunity to discuss Rome's international character in the modern era. This will also sharpen participants' awareness of transnational approaches to Italian contemporary history. In addition, various archives will be visited to practise searching for sources and critically evaluating historical material.
