CfP: Asymmetrische Beziehungen – Asymmetrische Verhältnisse
Deadline: 1 June 2026
In November 2026, the DHI Rome, in collaboration with the Working Group Historische Soziologie, is organising a transepochal conference on the theme of "Asymmetrische Beziehungen – asymmetrische Verhältnisse". We therefore invite researchers in the fields of historical cultural studies and social sciences as well as historical sociology to debate the origins, points of rupture and lines of continuity of asymmetries through empirically grounded and analytically structured contributions. The aim is, among other things, to explore the extent to which the conceptual pair asymmetrical relationships / asymmetrical conditions has the potential to build transepochal bridges and to intensify the dialogue between the social and historical sciences.
