Ein Mann streut Sand aus Süditalien auf den Straßen von Berlin aus. Ein Zeitbild von 1914, aus drei ungewöhnlichen Perspektiven. Ein Roman, in dem auch das DHI, die damalige Preußische Historische Station in Rom, eine wichtige Rolle spielt. Protagonisten sind zwei Kunsthistoriker, die historischen Figuren nachempfunden sind: zwei Mitarbeitern der Historischen Station, Arthur Haseloff und Martin Wackernagel.
Gespräch zum Verhältnis zwischen Erzählkunst und Historiographie, organisiert von der Max Weber Stiftung in Zusammenarbeit mit dem DHI Rom.
